It’s hard to find models that have a natural pose. It takes time to practice, and find their look. My original plan was to shoot Shay Bella, but because of some time conflict, I had to wait a bit. Instead Shay brought a friend by the name Mari King. I had some time to kill before my next shoot, so Mari decided to get dressed and get in front of the camera. I started firing away. She moved smooth and elegant. I asked her how long she has modeling for. She smiled, “This is actually my first shoot ever”… Wtf…. This is Mari King.
We didn’t really have time for a interview, and she was a bit shy at first. But she quickly became comfortable in front of me and her movement in front of the camera was like she was shooting for years. It was a honor for me to be the first photographer to ever shoot her. She had a great look to her. Being mixed she had a mestizo look to her. I actually don’t remember what ethnicity she was…
I didn’t have much time with her, but it was a easy shoot. Most of the time I’am telling people about facial expressions, or posing. But Mari is a natural at this. I hope to see her do more shoots in the future. I truly believe she has potential for something great.
