Spocom Anaheim – 2015

My first time at Spocom in SoCal. Running off 2 hours of sleep, suffering through 80 degree weather, with rain, no time to relax at all. As I walked in before the event was open to the public, my exhaustion went away. The venue was ventilated, the cars were going through their final preparations, sound check was about done. Spocom Anaheim was about to kick off….

Spocom is one of the bigger automotive shows that is host world wide events from Taiwan to Hawaii. All types of vehicles are represented here from Honda, to Mercedes. Ran by quite a small team, the production company has been around long enough to handle an entertaining car show.

One problem I have with car shows is that they are always the same thing. Being entertaining is one key factor that most auto shows are trying to provide. Spocom was able to pull off attracting people to it’s main stage with dance competitions, performances, and a bikini contest that was able to pull all of the spectators to one place for a good 10 minutes.

They did run into a little problem. Due to the rain, the car show was only limited into their section of the Anaheim Convention Center. They originally had a open outdoor section to host, but was removed due to the weather. But even with this inconvenience, that did not stop spectators from battling through the rain to see these beautiful machines, and meet their favorite models.

I want to thank everyone I met at Spocom, and giving me the opportunity to check out what the hype is all about. I’ll be back next year!
